Acoustic TSCM Equipment
Ultrasonic Chirpers/Jammers
Equipment which generates a 140 db pressure wave with a swept
frequency from 25 kHz to 65 kHz. Five separate transducers are
driven at a time (each on its own frequency), the result is that
most microphones in the area will begin to sing or squeal, and
as a result may be detected with an ultrasonic or audio spectrum
analyzer. Also this type of system will jam some audio
microphones and pickup devices.
(Note: Most TSCM people make their own units and conceal them in a
briefcase)
White Noise Jammers
This equipment creates a "bubble" of noise around an area where
private discussions are taking place. Small transducers are
affixed to various solid objects in the area such as wall,
floors, windows, and a small amount of almost inaudible
static or hash is generated on the surface of the things to which the
transducers are attached. The results is that the effectiveness of
an eavesdropping device is diminished, but not totally negated.
A good example of this is the ANG-2000 System for fixed usage, and the PNG-200 for portable usage.
