The PC2000-UV-VIS Miniature Fiber Optic Spectrometer is a low-cost, general-purpose instrument for absorbance, reflectance and emission measurements. Unlike Ocean Optics external spectrometers, our PC2000-UV-VIS is pre-configured with a grating, order-sorting detector coating and entrance slit that make the spectrometer versatile enough for a variety of applications. What's more, the PC2000-UV-VIS is available for only $2,449 and -- as an "off-the-shelf" spectrometer -- is ready for immediate delivery.

The PC2000-UV-VIS consists of a low-cost, 2048-element linear CCD-array fiber optic PC plug-in spectrometer mounted on a half-length, 1 MHz ISA-bus A/D converter. This sturdy spectrometer-A/D converter combination fits easily into a slot in the PC. The PC2000-UV-VIS is pre-set to a 200-850 nm wavelength range (click here for grating efficiency), and comes with a UV2 Detector Upgrade, multi-bandpass order-sorting detector coating and 25 mm entrance slit for high-resolution (to 1.5 nm FWHM) performance. Operating software is also included.

The "external" version of the PC2000-UV-VIS is the S2000-UV-VIS, which interfaces to the PC via an ISA-bus or PCMCIA-type A/D converter. Custom PC2000 PC Plug-in Spectrometer configurations are also available.

The light sources and sampling optics used with the PC2000-UV-VIS are priced separately. Complete spectrophotometric systems are available for less than $4,000.

The PC2000-UV-VIS Spectrometer features a compact optical bench coupled to a 2048-element linear CCD-array detector. The spectrometer accepts light energy transmitted through single-strand optical fiber and disperses it via a fixed grating (set for 200-850 nm) across the CCD array. An SMA 905 connector allows for easy coupling to Ocean Optics' comprehensive line of fiber optic light sources and accessories.

The PC2000-UV-VIS comes with OOIBase32™, our next-generation version of Windows-based spectrometer operating software. OOIBase32 supports Windows 95/98/Me and Windows NT/2000. Other software options (separately priced) include add-on application programs, code for software development and application interface packages.

Specifications -- PC2000-UV-VIS Fiber Optic Spectrometer
Ocean Optics miniature fiber optic spectrometers offer high performance at low cost, in a convenient, modular package. Optical performance varies according to a number of factors, including the grating's groove density and the entrance optics' size -- as well as the application itself (for example, low vs. high light level applications).
