The dissappearance of LP's is not happening as much in England and Australia 
compared to the US. The English still want the best sound they can and that 
definitely comes from vinyl. 

CD as a musical medium is still in its infancy. The level of musical detail 
from a CD is nowhere near as much as that obtained with a top class turntable.

However, the cost of the majority of CD players on the market is also nowhere 
near as much as a top class turntable, so value-for-money comparsions should 
be made. Thus a good CD player like the Denon 1520 should be compared to the 
Rega Planar 3 and not a Linn Sondek LP12 costing 4 times as much (as the CD).

I am happy just to listen to my turntable now and to wait until CD recording 
improves, then I will buy another CD player.
