Shriver) Subject: sad news for Dynaco maintainers and modifiers I just got the latest mailing from Sound Values. As of 12/1/92, they no longer are in the business of selling Dynaco parts. They retained only about 40 types of parts, mostly capacitors, transformers, tubes, and a few of the unreliable power switches (PAT-4 lighted). The capacitors include a Quad cap for everything but the MK III. (Nobody will make 550V capacitors anymore.) I guess they are too busy building the new Stereo 70 Mark 2's for Panor. I would have been happier if they had done a "last buy" announcement first. Of course, they were already out of most of the parts that tended to need replacing, like the pots. They also have a Stereo 70 power transformer that "does not require" the GZ34/5AR4 rectifier. I don't really know what that means. Lower B+ for safe voltages with silicon diodes? I dunno. They also are offering replacement metalwork for your rusty Stereo 70. About $300. They are going to re-issue an enhanced Mark III. No price.
