Good observation! Just a little aside: My father, Albert J. Dauray, was the owner of Ampeg in the late '60's-early '70's until he (sob) sold it to Magnavox. The SVT came out during his reign. I unfortunately was too little and Dad is NOT technical in any way, so despite this "pedigree" I really know nothing about guitar amps. But, it was one of his engineers, Roger Cox now a pretty big cheese at Fender who I contacted in 1989 looking for a job when I took a break from college who introduced me to David Manley. I took that job with David and look what happened-- I married him! For all you out there that are unfamiliar the SVT runs 6 6550's and produces 350 watts of all tube, clean bass power.
