Profiles and
Polarity Plots
Zinc and Mercury typical life profiles (graphs shown to the left) are based on established history of average life studies performed by UVP. While not a guarantee of individual performance, we believe that it reflects a typical lamp.
The Polar
Intensity Plot graph illustrates relative 254nm output intensities versus the orientation of the double bore tube. This may be used to determine placement of the lamp for optimum efficiency. the concentric rings represent
measurements at different distances from the lamp.
Orientation collars are available for most Pen-Ray Lamps. Refer to Stock Designs for standard model configurations offering orientation collars. Options for customizing Pen-Ray
Lamps further discusses this orientation.
Relative 254nm output from Mercury Pen-Ray Lamp using an untreated fused quartz envelop. |
Greater distance from center indicates high intensity. Each number indicates the lamp to sensor distance. |
