1. Low cost is good but...what are you getting for your buck?

Although some systems are cheaper than others
they may not offer the technology that you need to perform your GPR surveys
properly

Consider the case of a tricycle compared to a
stealth jet - They'll both get you where you want to go, but one takes
an awful lot more effort and time than the other.
2. Bigger is not better

It is extremely hard to work with large pieces
of instrumentation - especially in the field & areas with limited access
-
Look for small, modular & relatively light-weight
components - and ergonomic accessories will make your surveys as easy as
possible
3. Training and Support

Training should be available to everyone who buys
a GPR system & training courses should also be offered periodically
for any GPR user.

Support is an important part of any business -
make sure that support is available for all parts of your GPR system &
that there are specialists available for you to talk to regarding:

your system

the software you are using
