The E-field antenna plates are made of hardware clothe. The magnetic field coaxial cable loops are made to have identical areas and are accurately oriented in the north-south and east-west planes. About one inch of the shield braid must be removed from the top center of each loop. This trimming is necessary for the coaxial cable braid to act as a proper electrostatic shield to the inner conductor, the actual magnetic loop antenna.
