This program can be tested on your hardware without your having a UPNLT, by using a modem (or some other device which connects to a serial port and echoes bytes sent to it) to emulate a UPNLT.
Some modems take a few bytes to lock onto a new baud rate and so do not echo
part of the configuration string. The program will report this. In this case,
to emulate a UPNLT use a DB9(F) connector with
RXD (pin 2) wired to TXD (pin 3) and
CTS (pin 8) wired to RTS (pin 7)
Plug it in to your computer serial port when the program says to "power up
the UPNLT", and remove it when the program says to "depower the UPNLT".
We suggest you test this program before assuming it will function correctly with your particular hardware and operating system.
