8010C - METAL/MINERAL DETECTOR

The 8010C is a hand-held, battery operated metal detector with detachable, extendable probe assemblies. The unit contains two oscillator circuits, one within the metal case, the other formed by the probe. When the two oscillators are on the same frequency, they are said to be in "zero beat". The oscillator formed by the probe is normally set to a frequency slightly higher than the internal oscillator. The resultant tone, heard through the headset, will increase in pitch as the probe is brought near metal and decrease when it is brought near "mineral" material. The unit is supplied with main electronics assembly, flat paddle probe, slender probe, probe extension cable, headset, instruction and carrying case. The 8010C is powered by a single 9-volt battery.
