Annex A to ITU-T Recommendation E.164 (08/91) contains a list of country codes incorporating all assignments made until August 1991. 2. Since August 1991, various new assignments have been made and furthermore, some alterations have been made to the names of countries or geographical areas. While the new assignments have been published separately in various issues of the ITU Operational Bulletin, alterations to the names of countries corresponding to the country codes have not. 3. In the course of the work to revise and update ITU-T Recommendation E.164 undertaken by Study Group 2 during this new study period (1993 - 1996), it has been agreed that the "List of ITU-T Recommendation E.164 assigned country codes" will be published in the future as an annex to the ITU Operational Bulletin, and will include: - a numerical list of country codes; - an alphabetical list of country codes. Accordingly, the present list, which reflects the situation as at 31 July 1994, replaces the list reproduced in Annex A to ITU-T Recommendation E.164 (08/91). 4. For your information, this list will be updated by numbered series of amendments published in the ITU Operational Bulletin. Furthermore, the information contained in this annex is also available on the ITUDOC system, and can be consulted by subscribers by remote access. The information which will be kept up-to-date, will be found in the "ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector" part of the ITU document database, under the heading "Lists annexed to Operational Bulletin". 5.
