Better ground with conductive cement

By Clayton Hallmark
April 2000

The resistance of an ordinary ground rod can permanently be cut in half by embedding it in a 3 to 6-inch radius of conductive cement such as Earthlink-101.
The cement is poured in the 6-in. or 12-in. diameter hole, around the rod.
It sets up as it absorbs moisture and stays moist. It's conductivity is 25 ohm-cm versus 5000-6000 ohm-cm for ordinary concrete.
We tested this at Lucent Bell Laboratories in Chester, NJ.
