Great Circle Maps

A Great Circle is the shortest path between two points on earth. A map with this projection puts you in the center of a circle and the world from your horizon is plotted. From where I live it looks like this. The shortest path to Australia is almost straight to the east.

If you are a radio amateur and you want to point your antenna in the right direction you need a map like this.

You can add Range circles, Fields, Squares, Prefix data or any other data in the right format after you have made the map - or when it is made! You can save the result to a bitmap or you can print a black and white map directly on your printer.

It is freeware! I made program as a way to learn Visual Basic. I made versions in every language I have programmed in. (Quick Basic, Visual Basic 3, Borland C++ and Borland C++ Builder) You may be the judge in wich of the last two languages version 3 will be made in! I have not yet finished versions of both! Take a look on the C++ pages and download if you wish!
