The GHCC Lightning Research Team is studying lightning processes in order to determine the relationship between the electrical characteristics of storms and precipitation, convection, and severe weather. The Lightning Team is also actively analyzing a wide variety of atmospheric measurements in an effort to ascertain the conditions that lead to thunderstorms. The data collected by the Lightning Team are routinely shared with scientists around the world.
