FEEDBACK OUTPUT MONITORING

INTERNAL 4.5 DIGIT SYSTEM MONITOR

You can monitor the Feedback Voltage output using the INTERNAL 4.5-Digit SYSTEM MONITOR. Simply set the selector switch to the position marked "MVR OUTPUT"

The internal System Monitor DVM is installed inside the lid of the gravity meter in place of the thermometer. It uses special low-power, high-intensity red LEDs that function in both low and high temperature situations.

The DVM indicates the voltage output of the Feedback card in millivolts. A filter before the DVM provides about 60 seconds of averaging. The natural 1 to 2 second oscillation of the MVR Feedback voltage is thereby averaged to a steady value that can be recorded by the operator.

EXTERNAL DVM MONITOR

A battery-powered DVM can be used (Fluke Model 85 or similar unit) for measuring the Feedback voltage. The DVM is connected to the Analog Output Connector ("Recorder Jack") on the side of the gravity meter.

It is helpful to use the AVERAGE feature when measuring the Feedback voltage using an external DVM. The voltage can also be recorded by a data acquisition system if desired.
