AM Broadcast Band Active Antenna

Submitted by Ned E. Stevens

Description: AM Broadcast Band Active Antenna

This project was developed to use with communications receivers. Although communications receivers cover the AM broadcast band, many have reduced sensitivity in this band, and generally have a 50 ohm antenna impedance. This circuit provides 30db gain and has an output impedance of 50 ohms to match the input impedance of the communications receivers. The circuit works on a single supply voltage of 12vdc and consumes about 20mA of current.
